I was reading a magazine the other day and ran across a phrase that struck me – “If the sun is not shining on me, at least it is shining on someone else”.
What a nice way to look at it and avoid some of our self pity. My day is total rubbish but at least someone is having a good day. Of course the skeptic would think what if the sun is shining on no one today? If this were true, then what a world we live in.

I am not sure if I am posting this to the right place but felt it necessary to add this to your blogspot!
I do not want you to delete this space. I feel it is good for you as well as others. It always helps to get things “off your chest” so to speak.
Anyway, I was reading this freebie Remedy mag I got in the mail last week & I thought of your open blog you thought about starting when I read the first article in here. It’s titled “Bounce Back” by Kalia Doner. The reason I thought of your “what made me smile today” idea is this…..
In the article its talking about tough times & it being touch to shake off the little gray cloud that’s following you around. There is a quote in there that says “If happiness is something you want out of life, then focusing daily on the small moments and cultivating positive emotions is the way to go” says psychologist Barbara Fredrickson, Ph.D. She also went on to say that “those small moments build inner resources that can help us rebound etter from adversity and stress, ward off depression and continue to grow.”
I don’t know if I am allowed to quote her but I did anyway to say this… I think it would be a positive thing for you to start that blog & let us all add little “smiles” each time we have something that “perked” us up!
I, for one, know it would help me to focus on the small things so I won’t sweat the big stuff!
Have a great day!!!!!!!!

Sorry for the couple of typos: 3rd paragraph should be “tough” not touch. & in the 4th paragraph should be “rebound better” not etter. Don’t know how to correct once submitted. I guess I should have proof-read it before submitting. LOL (smile)

I will get on the ‘smilesaday’ blog as soon as possible. It is alarming to start such a blog because it would require such contributions to make it worth while. But as you know, I am willing to give it a shot. I hope that 20 people I know will contribute and share and their friends will do the same. I have no ambitions other than see people smile. Truly to have a smile on their face when scrolling through and reading something that brightens their day for just one moment is a success. I am just trying to treat the world and the people in it how I wish to be treated. Life is one big golden rule to me, I screw up of course but I try my best. It may flop but I have failed before…..
Thanks,
Bill
